Recycling

Over the past year or so, I've become more and more conscious of the whole global warming and saving energy thing. My local council has quite a good recycling scheme offering the chance to recycle most plastics, tins, paper and garden waste. Up to now however I’ve done very little to take advantage of this fact, well that’s all going to change. I’ve decided that I’m going to really push myself as far as recycling is concerned.

One of the main problems I find is that when throwing away rubbish laziness sets in so everything ends up going into the same bin because I can’t be bothered to go outside and put it in the recycling boxes, so first step is to get some more containers that I can put next to the main bins in the house, that way I now just have to make sure I’m putting it into the correct bin.

Plastics and glass will need a little bit more attention, as they require the paper labels to be removed and to be washed out. This shouldn’t really be a hassle though as most plastic and glass usually gets thrown away in the kitchen anyway just a few steps away from the sink.

I think at first it may seem like a chore, however like most things when you do them enough it’ll probably just become part of my everyday life.

Once I’ve got things off the ground I’ll put up some more posts on how the recycling is going.
